The Connection There is no better way to feel connected to the Franklin community than through our newsletter, The Connection. With important news from the Principal, the Nurse and other school faculty, PTO event announcements and postings for kid-friendly activities, The Connection provides a wealth of information for parents and students.
Everyone is welcome to contribute to this fun, informative twice a month publication!
The first two issues are paper and electronic. After that all Franklin parents will receive The Connection electronically only to their email mailboxes.
If you don’t have email access, please contact Megan at the telephone number in the directory
Volunteer Needs: Volunteers are occasionally needed to assist with distribution - picking up copies of The Connection at the local printer, dividing them up into bunches according to class size and stuffing them into teachers' mailboxes in the morning.
School Directory Folks wouldn’t be anywhere without their very own copy of the Franklin School Directory put together in the Fall. It's one of the most important books you’ll use all year
Volunteer
Needs: One or two volunteers are needed to enter contact data (after release forms are obtained from families) into Microsoft Access and assist with proof-reading. Volunteers label directories for each family and distribute them to the teachers to go home in the backpacks. Volunteer help is especially needed for September and October.
Franklin PTO Website
It’s one of the best websites in town and you can volunteer to be a part of
putting it together and keeping it connected to all Franklin families. The
Franklin website is the definitive resource filled with a wide variety of
topics and information from the school as well as links to other informative
sites. Visit www.franklinpto.org (you're there!) for one of
your best sources of information about Franklin! Volunteer Needs:
Volunteers are needed to contribute to, update and maintain the Website
throughout the school year. We encourage you to submit anything you think would
be of interest to the Franklin school community.
Franklin School E-Mail Lists
The Franklin School community currently has two e-mail lists available to parents:
Frankly Speaking Frankly Speaking is the Franklin School student newspaper. Our very own third, fourth, and fifth graders write and produce Frankly Speaking in two issues during the school year. It features news from around the school, interviews with teachers, book and film reviews, stories, poems, puzzle pages, and many other types of articles. Frankly Speaking is entirely dependent on having parent volunteers willing to assist with compiling and producing the paper. There are many budding journalists at Franklin School that need to be heard! Volunteer Needs: The Frankly Speaking staff of students and volunteers meets weekly after school from 3-4pm in the Franklin School Library, beginning at the start of school. Volunteers are needed for help with typing and formatting, and as substitutes when other adult staff members are not available. Committee Chairs: CO-CHAIRS NEEDED |
