Creative Arts and Sciences This citywide enrichment program brings more than 15 unique programs to Franklin each year, showcasing a rich variety of artists, musicians, writers, poets, and scientists from around the world. Programs are designed to supplement the school's educational curriculum and enhance existing programming. This is a wonderful committee for anyone interested in fostering a love of arts and sciences in our kids! Volunteer Needs: As a volunteer, come join this Committee in the spring of 2008 to help plan and coordinate next year's Creative Arts and Sciences Programs.
Committee Chairs: Melanie Adler, Jane Malmberg

Fifth Grade Graduation Fifth grade graduation is quite a special benchmark for fifth graders and their parents. Committee volunteers and teachers work to make the day exceptional by coordinating the ceremony and the celebration which takes place afterwards. Volunteer Needs: Volunteers are needed to work with the Chair to plan and staff the Graduation ceremony and post-graduation festivities held in late June. Volunteers for the yearbook planning and editing are needed throughout the year.
Committee Chair(s): Eleanor Boschert-Ambrosio and Ellen Bradley

Social Action By being engaged in both local and global issues, Franklin students learn respect for others as well as how to reach out and help those less fortunate. This committee provides an extra-curricular program that allows Franklin students to plan and execute activities that aid people in our local and more general communities. Past activities have included food and toy drives, Walk for Hunger participation, and sing-a-longs at elderly homes. Volunteer Needs: Parent volunteers are needed to help define community needs and to organize each activity scheduled throughout the year.
Committee Chair: Bela Labovitch and Adele Jasperse

Understanding Our Differences This third, fourth and fifth grade curriculum offers students insights into specific disabilities such as blindness, deafness, diabetes, and asthma. This rewarding program helps students appreciate and understand people with disabilities. Volunteer Needs: Volunteers are needed to help organize the programs and to be in the classrooms during the presentations scheduled throughout the year.
Committee Chairs: Kim Freedman, Hanna Palmon
