Honeybees and the Art of Keeping Bees
Birgit DeWeerd is a local beekeeper who has studied every aspect of the honeybee. In this program, she presents the family-like social interactions of honeybees, their lifecycle and work roles, pollen and nectar collection, honey production and the difference between hooneybees and wasps and how to behave in the presence of these insects. She shows the attire of a beekeeper, spectacular enlargements of bees at work, and of course, a jar of bees!
