FRANKLIN SCHOOL PARENT-TEACHER ORGANIZATION (PTO)
2006-2007

Mission Statement To promote the academic, social and personal growth and well-being of Franklin students and strive to foster a strong sense of community by encouraging a cooperative, supportive relationship among students, parents and teachers.

Goals

1. Enhance students learning by providing supplemental programs such as Celebrity Readers and Creative Arts and Sciences.

2. Serve as a communication resource to parents, encouraging families to attend and/or contribute to school-wide activities such as International Night and Color Day.

3. Build parental involvement by encouraging active participation in volunteer opportunities at the school.

4. Provide ongoing outreach and support to incoming Kindergarten and new families.

5. Create an environment that fosters honesty, trust, respect and pride within the Franklin Community.

6. Plan and implement fund-raising events to support school activities, which include auctions, book fairs, school fairs, Original Works, cookbook sales, wrapping paper sales and Franklin School t-shirt sales.

7. Encourage students and their families to become involved in activities that reach out to our larger community such as the Holiday food drives and the Walk for Hunger.
