Girls on the Run team at Franklin! Registration is open!

Dear Franklin families, We hope your summer has been going well! Please see the message below from the Girls on the Run team coaches: Julia McTigue & Kara Temple (Franklin teachers), Maggie Sarra & Sarah Harris (Franklin parents).

Dear Families,

We are so excited to share that we will be having a Girls on the Run team at Franklin this fall!

Now more than ever, girls need the social and emotional skill-building lessons of Girls on the Run. Through our program, 3rd - 5th grade girls work together as a team to explore valuable lessons such as:

· Standing up for themselves and others

· Being a standbyer instead of a bystander

· Practicing empathy, inclusion, and acceptance

Girls on the Run is here for your girl! By signing her up for our program, you are giving her the opportunity to safely connect with other girls in our community in an inclusive and empowering space.

Over the 8 week long program, your girl will meet with her peers 2 times per week to review our research-based lessons that incorporate physical activity in a fun and engaging way. She will connect with girls, build healthy habits, and stay physically active!

Registration for Girls on the Run is now open! If we reach the maximum number of girls that we can accommodate on a single team, we will run a lottery on September 15th. The team will meet on the field in the back of the school on Tuesdays & Thursdays from 3-4:15pm. The season will take place the week of September 19th - Nov 23rd. The celebratory 5K is scheduled for November 20th in Medford, MA.
