Hello Franklin!
We are so excited to announce the winners of our first ever Franklin Valentine's Day Art Contest with the theme of "Something You Love":
Lucas Chang (Kindergarten), Zoey Schechter (1st grade), Tyler Grabauskas (2nd grade), Mario Carbone (3rd grade), Eleanorah Wermer (4th grade), and Calla Goldstone (5th grade)! Principal Jocelyn spent time looking at all of the submissions and his choices for each grade are below along with his thoughts!
Kindergarten Winner - Lucas Chang: I love the multitude of colors and how it seems to show an abstract landscape. First Grade Winner - Zoey Schechter: This is just something really creative. It looks like they put red ink on the snow and I like that they used their environment to create this piece. Second Grade Winner - Tyler Grabauskas: This is something that is also different - life like truck and well done three dimensional rendering. Third Grade Winner - Mario Carbone: These are just high quality art pieces, along with that I love the title. Fourth Grade Winner - Eleanorah Wermer: This one is also well done and I like that they used color sparingly. It just seems tasteful. Fifth Grade Winner - Calla Goldstone: I love the message of this artwork as the world is severely lacking in love. The artwork itself is also very well done. There is really good line art making the drawing really clean. We will be displaying the six pieces of artwork in front of the school on the bulletin board within the next few days, and it will stay for a week! Also, we will be delivering prizes to homes this week. They will get a set of 20 Prismacolor Premier colored pencils and a coloring booklet!
