Hi Franklin Families,
Our Franklin School librarian, Mrs. Airasian, is looking to have some parent volunteers help out in the library this year! Parents can come during their child’s class to help check out books for students, check in books, re-shelve materials, and help with other small tasks around the library as needed.
All volunteers must attend a volunteer orientation with Mrs. Airasian in the library, even if they have completed one in the past. Orientations are only 15 minutes long and include reviewing the volunteer handbook, library layout, and intro to the software. There is only ONE MORE ORIENTATION DATE LEFT IN THE FALL!

If you cannot make this last orientation date, please reach out directly to Mrs. Airasian to schedule a one-on-one session with her at airasianm@newton.k12.ma.us.
Please check with the office and make sure you have a current CORI/SORI on file. CORI/SORI is good for only three years so if you are new to Franklin or think that yours may be expired, please check in with Siobhan Wheeler in the office at wheelers@newton.k12.ma.us. If you do not have a CORI/SORI on file, you CANNOT volunteer.
Once you have filled out the Google form above to RSVP for a library volunteer orientation time, please review the available slots in this SignUpGenius and sign up to volunteer! The slots are in order by Class Schedule (Monday through Friday - see below). This way, if you sign up for multiple slots, it’ll be easier for you to select more than one if you’d like. We love having parent volunteers, but also please don’t sign up for ALL of the slots for your teacher to give other parents in your class the opportunity as well!

The slots start 10 minutes before the class begins so that the librarian can touch base with you and give you a specific assignment if needed.
