The PTO is looking for a new NSF liaison!

Updated: May 19, 2021

Hi Franklin families!

Would you like to be more involved this year? We need your help!

The Franklin PTO is looking for a Franklin parent to be our Newton Schools Foundation (NSF) Liaison!

The NSF funds grants in the Newton Public Schools that support professional development for educators, new approaches in the classroom, and programs that address both racial and income inequities. Their mission is to advance excellence and equity in Newton Public Schools. Elementary school students in particular have had Positivity Training, Authorfest, and FORJ (Families Organizing for Racial Justice) to name just a few NSF-funded initiatives. The NSF Board wants to be able to collaborate with PTOs to strengthen the relationship between the schools and the NSF donors who fund the programs. They are seeing a Franklin parent to be a liaison to the NSF, and a full description of the liaison role is attached!

If you're interested, or if you have specific questions about the role, please let us know!

We are hoping to fill this role within the next week, and there is a meeting for all new PTO liaisons across Newton on December 15th at 7pm.

Thank you!
